Orpingtons

Orpingtons are a fantastic choice for families with children or those who are new to keeping chickens.  They are calm, friendly, and very good mamas.  Orpingtons are a large bodied bird with beautiful fluffy plumage.  They tend to be a broody breed and lay an average of 5 eggs per week.  The eggs are typically tan, but some hens can have a heavy bloom that make the eggs appear pink.  My pen is setup to hatch chocolate and mauve females and blue and black split to chocolate males.
